Maryland’s Medevac System and MVA Surcharges A Promise Broken, is a first in a series which addresses the ever increasing State Taxes, MVA Surcharge, Surcharge to Augment the MVA Surcharge and Flawed Governance Structure of Maryland Trauma/EMS Systems. Maryland’s legislature has allowed what appear to be serious conflicts of interest, serious bureaucratic mismanagement, and home-grown measuring stick assessing Maryland’s EMS/Trauma Systems.

“WE” the taxpayers, Citizens and Medical Insurance Companies are left Footing the Bill!

Many things like the systems helicopters, facilities, systems and infrastructure have grown out of proportion to the need. We Citizens, the legislature, taxpayers, and systems need to remember what got us here and find ways to make systems more efficient, not grow larger and cost the taxpayers even more.
